e = calibrated bottle

The letter "e" on the label certifies that the bottle is a calibrated bottle according to EU standards. This is always stated in connection with the nominal volume, for example with "e 750 ml" or "0.75 cl e". This designation has been mandatory for all EU member states since 1977. Only the slightest deviations are permitted. See also under hollow dimensions.
