Dussert-Gerber Patrick

Patrick Dussert-Gerber (*1956) is considered France's most prolific wine writer and wine critic. After his studies, he began his career as a wine journalist. The occasion was an encounter with the renowned oenologist Jacques de Guilhem Loustaunau, with whom he learned the art of tasting. The magazine he founded, Magnum, was the first consumer magazine for wines and spirits. First published in 1980, the annually updated "Guide des Vins" is appreciated by amateurs and professionals alike and is considered one of the best independent wine guides. It describes 10,000 wines from 1,900 winemakers. There is also a website of the same name and a second one called Millesime.fr. Dussert-Gerber has written over 40 wine books, some of which are L'Encyclopédie Mondiale des Vins, Le Guide des Vins d'Europe, Le Guide d'achat des bons Vins (Guide to Good Wines), Le Guide des meilleurs produits et spécialités de Franc, L'Amour du Vin (Love of Wine), Le Guide des Vins de Bordeaux and Les Vins du Siècle (Wines of the Century).

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
