Durasa

The red grape variety comes from Italy. The parentage (parenthood) is unknown. According to Wine Grapes, it should be identical to the variety Neretto Duro. In the VIVC catalogue, however, it is indicated as being independent. Synonyms are Balau, Baló Barbera Rotonda, Bonarda, Bonarda d'Macoun, Bonarda di Chieri, Bonarda Rotonda, Dolcetto di Boca, Erbaluce Nera, Erbaluce Nero (an independent variety according to Wine Grapes), Erbalus Nero, Nera Lunga, Neretto Duro, Peilavert and Uva 'd Galvan (the bold ones are identical to those of Neretto Duro). In 2016, no stocks were recorded under the name Durasa (Kym Anderson). A final clarification regarding this variety(ies) is open. See also under Bonarda.
