The white grape variety is an open-pollinated seedling of Muscat d'Alexandrie; the father variety is unknown. Synonyms are Buccleuch, Duc de Buccleuch, Duc de Buccleugh and Duke of Buccleuch. The vine was selected in England by the breeder W. Thomson. It is an all-female grape variety. It is used as table grape. The variety was a crossing partner in the new breeding Queen Elizabeth. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson).
There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
