The winery is located in the municipality of Oppenheim ( Nierstein area) in the German wine-growing region of Rheinhessen. It was founded in 1999 by Dr. Karl Heyden and is run as a family business. His son Frank Heyden graduated from the University of Applied Sciences for Viticulture and Enology in Geisenheim. The vineyards cover about 15 hectares of vineyards in the Oppenheim single vineyards Sackträger, Herrenberg, Schloss and Kreuz. The white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Gris, Rivaner (Müller-Thurgau), Silvaner, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Blanc, Kerner, Ortega and Goldmuskateller are cultivated, as well as the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Dornfelder, Frühburgunder, St. Laurent, Cabernet Dorsa and Merlot. The vineyards are cultivated according to sustainable and environmentally friendly criteria. The grapes are processed as gently as possible. Yields are reduced to a considerable extent. The product range is divided into the lines estate wines, local wines and single vineyards. In years with suitable weather conditions, Trockenbeerenauslese wines are also produced. Natural Wine, grape juice, Secco, bottle-fermented sparkling wine and grape marc brandy are also produced.
