DPW

Abbreviation for the association "German Prädikats Winzergenossenschaften". It was founded in 1996. Today, the association represents 11 winegrowers' cooperatives with 5,624 members or winegrowing families who cultivate a total of 4,000 hectares of vineyards in the five wine growing regions of Baden, Franconia, Palatinate, Rhine-Hesse and Württemberg. The members are committed to quality management according to ISO 9000 and organic audit and strive for environmentally friendly, organic viticulture. The motto is "In vino qualitas quinquies = In wine is five times quality". This means that quality is not created by classifying the vineyard sites, but rather is ennobled by the soil, microclimate, vintage, grape variety and above all by the art of the winegrower and the cellar master. One member is the Achkarren (Baden) winegrowers' cooperative.
