The winery is located in the municipality of Remshalden-Grunbach (Remstal-Stuttgart area) in the German wine-growing region of Württemberg. It is owned by Dorothee Wagner-Ellwanger and Andreas Ellwanger, the winery name is formed from the two first names. The vineyards cover five hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Berghalde and Klingle (Grunbach); of these, 2.5 hectares are leased to the Ellwanger Jürgen Winery. The fruit from two hectares of meadows is processed in the in-house distillery. The self-cultivated vineyards in the Berghalde and Klingle (Grunbach) vineyards are planted with Riesling, Trollinger (Schiava Grossa) and Merlot varieties. Since 2008, all vineyards have been farmed organically according to the guidelines of the organic association ECOVIN. The wines are produced in the lines Ballade (light, sparkling), Symphonie (from the best grapes and sites, mostly dry aged in barriques ) and Oper (Prädikatsweine to Eiswein). In addition, bottle-fermented sparkling wines, noble brandies (fruit, berries, marc) and liqueurs are also produced.
