The winery is located in the commune of La Chapelle-Heulin next to Saumur in the Loire wine region (France). It was founded in 1929 by Donatien Bahuaud. After the death of the last member of the family, the estate was taken over in 2013 by the Ackerman company with its head office in Saint-Hilaire Saint-Florent. The vineyards cover 100 hectares of vineyards planted with Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Melon de Bourgogne and Cabernet Franc. The grapes with reduced yields are harvested at the best possible physiological ripeness. The flagship of the house is "Le Master Muscadet-Sèvre et Maine Sur Lie", which has been produced since the 1984 vintage. The wine is stored for a long time on the fine yeast according to the appellation guidelines. Other premium wines are "Les Boires Chinon", "La Diva Chardonnay" and "La Diva Sauvignon". A total of around 30,000 cases of wine (12 bottles each) are produced annually.

The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
