The winery is located in the municipality of Guntersblum (Nierstein area) in the German wine-growing region of Rheinhessen. The estate, which formerly belonged to the cathedral chapter of Worms, has been in the family since 1874. After training as a winemaker and viticultural technician and internships at the Klaus Keller (Flörsheim-Dalsheim) and Keth (Offstein) wineries, it has been run by the fourth generation, Alexander Baumann and his wife Chris, since 2004. Attached is the three-star hotel "Schlafgut Domhof". The historical part of the winery was complemented in 2007 by the addition of an event area for wedding and family celebrations. The 150 m² event area blends in with the historic buildings with its vinotheque and kitchen. The landmark of the Domhof is the Petrus, carved in stone as a coat of arms on the entrance gate from 1754, which can also be found on the labels.
Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
