Group of companies comprising a total of 12 Spanish wineries (bodegas) that produce an extensive range of wines under different labels. The company's headquarters are in the city of San Sebastián (Basque: Donostia) in the Basque province of Gipuzkoa in the very north of Spain. The origin lies in 1970, when the sherry house Pedro Domecq founded a winery in Rioja. When Domecq became Multi Allied Domecq in 1994, other wineries were added in Rioja as well as in other areas. When the multinational was broken up in 2005, these wineries became the property of the French group Pernod Ricard. In addition to the DO wines listed below from a total of nine areas, all the bodegas also produce country wines, aromatised wines (for example sangria) and liqueur wines.
Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
