The winery is located in the municipality of Villié-Morgon in the central east of France. The estate was founded in 1590 by one of the family's ancestors. The current owner Dominique Piron made his first wine in 1971 and the responsible cellar master is Julien Revillon. The vineyards cover a total of 60 hectares of vines in the Beaujolais area, including the three cru sub-areas of Chénas, Morgon (25 hectares) and Moulin-à-Vent. Grapes and wine are bought from another 20 hectares. Almost exclusively the red Beaujolais variety Gamay (98%) and only a small amount of Chardonnay (2%) is processed. The nature-orientated cultivation is carried out according to sustainability criteria. The red wines are fermented in concrete tanks with an unusually long maceration period of 20 days for Beaujolais. The wine is aged in barriques that are one third new. Premium wines include the three Cru-Beaujolais "Morgon Côte du Py", "Moulin à Vent Vieilles Vignes" and "Chénas Quartz". A Beaujolais Blanc is pressed from the Chardonnay. Approximately 500,000 bottles of wine are produced annually, about a third of which is exported.
