The winery is located in the commune of Rocuefort-sur-Loire, 20 kilometres south-west of Angers in the Maine-et-Loire department in the French wine-growing region of Loire. The Baumard family has owned this traditional estate since 1634. It was reactivated by Jean Baumard in the mid-1950s. Since 1992, the estate has been run by his son Florent Baumard. The vineyards cover 40 hectares of vines on both banks of the Loire. The white wine varieties Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay as well as the red wine varieties Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon are cultivated. The vineyards are cultivated according to natural, ecological principles, but are not certified organic.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
