The winery is located in the commune of Ampuis in the French wine-growing region of Rhône. It was founded in 1976 by André Drevon. In 1980, his son Louis created the old name of the domaine for the winery name. Since 2013, his nephew Maxime Gourdain has been responsible for the family estate. The vineyards cover a total of 8.5 hectares of vines in 20 parcels in the two AOC areas Côte Rôtie with 7.5 hectares in the municipality of Ampuis (with the lieux dits (cru sites) Besset, Rozier, Côte-Rozier, Côte-Bodin, Fongeant, Janet and Boucharey) and Condrieu with 0.5 hectares in the Faugière and Le Piaton sites in Saint Michel directly above the AOC area Château-Grillet. The south to south-east facing vineyards are located on slopes with a gradient of up to 60% on poor, partly clay and limestone granite and mica slate soils. The remaining 0.5 hectares are an IGP area Collines Rhôdaniennes.
