The winery, with 30 hectares of vineyards, is located in the commune of Léognan, in the middle of a clearing in the communal appellation of Pessac-Léognan in the Graves area. The term Château, which is usually used in Bordeaux, was deliberately avoided. The owner Olivier Bernard, together with neighbouring estates such as Château de Fieuzal, founded the community "Les Grands Blanc de Bordeaux" to promote "great Bordaux white wines". Both white and red wines are classified as Cru Classé. The red wine, which can be stored for decades, is made from Cabernet Sauvignon (65%), Merlot (30%) and Cabernet Franc (5%) and matures for up to 24 months in 100% new oak barrels. The second red wine is called Esprit de Chevalier. The white wine, which can be stored for decades, is blended from Sauvignon Blanc (70%) and Sémillon (30%) and matures up to 18 months in oak barrels that are 25% new.
