Domaine Carneros

The winery is located in the town of Napa in California's Napa Valley. It was founded in 1987 by Claude Taittinger, the owner of the famous champagne house. Situated on a hill, the château was built in the style of the 18th century Château de la Marquetterie in Pierry, near Épernay in Champagne, and was completed in 1989. The property around this building covers a total of 138 hectares of land. It is also used for various events. The grapes come from six vineyards within four miles of the Château in the AVA Los Carneros, with a total vineyard area of 400 hectares. The two grape varieties Chardonnay (125 ha) and Pinot Noir (275 ha) as well as some Merlot are mainly cultivated and processed. The extensive product range includes sparkling wines from the classic brut cuvée to the cuvée de prestige "Le Rêve Blanc de blancs" as well as still wines.
