Dolomitici

The "Consorzio I Dolomitici" in Trentino (southern part of the double region Trentino-Alto Adige) was founded in 2010 by ten wineries, an eleventh was added as a joint project. The name refers to the mountain range of the Dolomites, which characterize this alpine region and parts of which have been included in the "UNESCO World Natural Heritage Dolomites" since 2009. With the exception of the hills of Faedo and the Val di Cembra, the vineyards cover all subzones of Trentino. These are the Campo Rotaliano with e.g. Teroldego; the hills north and east of Trento with its white wines, the Valle die Laghi in the north of Lake Garda with the sweet wine Vino Santo and the southern Trentino near Rovereto with e.g. Marzemino. The winegrowers have committed themselves to the production and management form of Biodynamic viticulture.

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
