The red grape variety is an interspecific new variety between (Coarnă Neagră x Kishinev 35) x Pollenmixtur Seyanets + Seyve-Villard 23-657 (Varousset). Synonyms are Dojna and Doyna. Genes of Vitis lincecumii, Vitis rupestris and Vitis vinifera are included. The hybrid was crossed in 1968 in Moldova by the breeder D. D. Verderevskii. The variety is grown almost exclusively in the Krasnodar region in southern Russia. In 2016, a vineyard area of 227 hectares was reported here (Kym Anderson statistics).
