DOCG zone (also Diano or Diano d'Alba) for red wine in the Italian region of Piedmont. The upgrading from DOC took place in 2010. The zone covers 330 hectares of vineyards in the area of the namesake mountain town of Diano d'Alba. It lies between the better-known DOCG areas of Barolo and Barbaresco. The 75 sunny south-facing slopes have a special status. Through the efforts of the municipality and the setting of low yield limits (56 hl/ha), official recognition as single vineyard sites (Sori) was achieved for the first time in Italy.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
