The red grape variety originates from the USA. Synonyms are Black Cluster, Black July, Blue Grape, Buenos Ayres, Hart, Hart Tuley, Husson, Lincoiln, Mc Lean, Sumpter, Thurmond and Tuley. It is an American species of Vitis bourquina. It should not be confused with the varieties Jacquez or Ohio (both with synonym Devereaux) (but it could be identical with one or both). The variety was selected by the breeder Samuel M. Devereaux. It is used as a winepress and table grape. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
