Demjen

The white grape variety originates from Hungary. Synonyms are Budai Gohér, Hudler White and White Hudler. The parentage (parentage) is unknown. It was described by Franz Xaver Trummer (1800-1858) in his work "Systematische Classification und Beschreibung der im Herzogthume Steiermark vorkommenden Rebensorten" as Weißer Hudler. Possibly, it is identical with the Fitzrebe. Incidentally, Demjen is also a synonym for the Tokaj grape variety Furmint. In 2016, no stocks were reported (Kym Anderson statistics).
