The red grape variety (also Delo) is a new cross between Alphonse Lavallée x Csaba Gyöngye (Pearl of Csaba), which was confirmed by DNA analyses carried out in 2013. The cross was made in France in 1959 at the Domaine de Vassal on behalf of INRA. The early-maturing vine is resistant to botrytis. It is mainly used as table grape. The variety is grown in very small quantities in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. In 2016, only 0.2 hectares of vines were reported (Kym Anderson statistics).
