The white grape variety is an interspecific new variety between Baco 45A(Baroque x Noah) x Baco 1(Baco Noir). Synonyms are Baco 2-16 and Thomur. It contains genes from Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia and Vitis vinifera. The hybrid was crossed by the French breeder François Baco (1865-1947). It is mainly cultivated in the USA and Canada, where it is used as a wine press and table grape. However, no stock was reported in 2010 (Statistics Kym Anderson).
