Danube tree Johann

The winery is located in the municipality of Spitz an der Donau in the Lower Austrian wine growing region of Wachau. The estate in Spitzer Graben dates back to the 16th century. The vineyards cover 6.5 hectares of vineyards in the Biern, Offenberg, Point and Setzberg (all Spitz) areas, as well as exclusively Grüner Veltliner in Loiben. The white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling and Neuburger are cultivated 100%. Furthermore, grapes are also purchased. The cultivation is based on the principle: "The quality of the wine originates in the vineyard". The wines are vinified according to variety and terroir, with as little interference as possible in the cellar. By using yeast strains from the vineyard, the complexity and shelf-life of the wines is to be further increased. It is the declared aim to exploit the enormous potential of the Neuburger variety through appropriate cultivation and selection. The winery is a member of Vinea Wachau Nobilis Districtus. The white wines are vinified in the three Vinea qualities Steinfeder, Federspiel and Smaragd. Around 65,000 bottles of wine are produced annually.
