The red grape variety comes from France. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2012, it is probably a natural cross between Humagne Blanche x Gouais Blanc. It must not be confused with the Dameron variety (with the synonym Dameret Noir) (also a Gouais Blanc descendant). However, the variety is no longer of any significance; no stock was reported in 2010.
