Czamillonberg

Vineyard or site in the municipality of Leutschach in the Austrian wine-growing region of southern Styria on the border with Slovenia. The vineyards once belonged to the estate of the Polish Count Woracziczky, who was considered a wine pioneer here. The south-facing vineyards at 450 metres above sea level cover 12 hectares of vines. The intense sunlight (exposure) ensures optimum heat storage. The soils consist of clay marl, shell limestone and loose brown earth (Opok). The white wine varieties Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Blanc and Muskateller, as well as the red wine varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, St. Laurent and Zweigelt are cultivated. The wineries Polz Erich and Walter, Potzinger Stefan and Tscheppe am Pössnitzberg have shares in the vineyard.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
