Culot de Bouteille

French term (also Cul de Bouteille) for the indentation at the bottom of a bottle; in English this is called a punt. When a bottle is stacked crosswise with the neck of one bottle in the indentation of the other bottle, it is called "Bouteilles stockées sur Pointes". See bottoms of bottles and sparkling wine bottles for more information.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
