On the Antillean island with a randropical climate there is very little viticulture. The country is mainly known for its cigars and, with regard to alcoholic drinks, its rum (sugar cane schnapps) (see also Bacardi-Martini Limited). In the western region of Pinar del Río, the main tobacco growing area, some Chardonnay is cultivated, from which Cuban wine is also produced. The Cubans mainly drink their national drink or beer. Wine is mostly imported from Spain in 10-liter containers, but there are also bottled wines from Spain, Italy, France, Australia and Chile
