Crimson Seedless

The white grape variety (also C 102-26) is a new cross between Emperor x Fresno C33-199. The father variety is the result of several complex crosses involving Italia, Muscat d'Alexandrie, Muscat Blanc and Sultana, among others. The cross was made in 1979 in the USA by the breeders David W. Ramming and Ronald E. Tarailo. The red-berried variety is mainly used as table grape. As wine grape it is cultivated in Ethiopia (6 ha) and Peru (2 ha). In 2016, a total of 8 hectares of vineyard area were designated (Kym Anderson statistics).
