Crémant de Die

The regional appellation in the middle section of the Rhône wine-growing region is for crémant (sparkling wine made according to the Champagne method). It was created in 1993 to replace the appellation Clairette de Die Mousseux. The vineyards are located next to the town of Die on the Drôme tributary east of the Rhône. The sparkling wine is produced from the Clairette variety. For still wine the appellation Coteaux de Die applies.
