IGP area(regional wine) in the French wine-growing region of Roussillon. It was created in 2003 by merging the two former VdP areas Coteaux des Fenouillèdes and Vals d'Agly. Côtes Catalanes covers almost the entire département of Pyrénées-Orientales with the exception of the four municipalities of Banyuls-sur-Mer, Cerbère, Collioure and Port-Vendres (these form the IGP area of Côte Vermeille). Predominantly red wines are produced, with smaller quantities of rosé and white wines. The most important red wine varieties are Grenache Noir (Garnacha Tinta), Mourvèdre (Monastrell), Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Cinsaut, while the most important white wine varieties are Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier and Vermentino. Well-known producers include Château La Casenove, Domaine Cazes, Domaine de l'Horizon, Domaine Ferrer-Ribière, Domaine Gauby, Mas Baux and Vignerons Catalans.
