Cornucopia

This red grape variety is an interspecific new variety between Clinton x Black Saint Peters (Black Alicante). Synonyms are Arnold's 2 and Hybrid d'Arnold 2. It contains genes from Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia and Vitis vinifera. The hybrid was crossed in 1859 by the breeder Charles Arnold in Canada. In the course of the phylloxera catastrophe, it reached Europe and was also cultivated as a direct carrier in Austria at the beginning of the 20th century. The variety is used as a wine grape variety and table grape. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
