One of the five vineyards in the South African wine-growing district of Constantia on the Cape. The name means "Constantia View" in English. The run-down estate was bought and restored in 1988 by David and Marlene McKay. The property includes the "Constantia Uitsig Country Hotel", the restaurant "Le Colombe" and the "Constantia Uitsig Wine Shop". The vineyards cover 40 hectares. They are planted with the white wine varieties Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, as well as Merlot. Among the premium wines are the Bordeaux blend "Le Colombe", in addition to the varietal pure products.
Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
