Confrérie de la Chantepleure

The French Wine Brotherhood, based in Vouvray in the French region of the same name on the Loire, was founded in 1937 and revived after the Second World War by Gaston Huet. The association sees itself as the guardian and promoter of the enjoyment of life and the wines of Touraine, particularly the wines of Vouvray and its gastronomy. Its name or symbol is the wooden tap, the Chantepleure. There are several thousand members worldwide. Several hundred "Chevaliers de la Chantepleure" meet within the framework of an annual gastronomic and musical event. The language culture of the popular French writer François Rabelais (1483/1494-1553) is especially cultivated: Emplir l'âme de toute vérité, de tout savoir, de toute philosophie (fill the soul with all truth, all knowledge, all philosophy). See also other French wine fraternities under Confrérie vineuse.

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
