DOC area for white and red wines in the Italian region of Marche. It includes the entire province of Macerata with 55 municipalities (e.g. the provincial capital of Macerata), as well as the municipality of Loreto in the province of Ancona.
The Bianco (also known as Passito and Spumante) is blended from Ribona = Maceratino (zum. 70%), using any of Incrocio Bruni 54, Pecorino, Trebbiano Toscano, Verdicchio Bianco, Chardonnay, Sauvignon = Sauvignon Blanc, Malvasia Bianca Lunga and Grechetto di Orvieto (max. 30%), as well as other varieties (max. 15%).
