The white grape variety originates from Italy. The name means "horse's tail", which refers to the shape of the grape. Synonyms are Cavalla, Codacavallo and Latina. The parentage (parentage) is unknown. The early-maturing vine is moderately resistant to botrytis. It is mainly grown in the province of Napoli and on the island of Ischia in Campania and is mainly used as a blending partner. However, no stock was reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).

In the past, you needed a wealth of encyclopaedias and specialist literature to keep up to date in your vinophile professional life. Today, Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one of my best helpers and can rightly be called the "bible of wine knowledge".
