The red grape variety originates from Moldova. Synonyms are Agrio Mavro, Ain Kelba, Asma, Cerna Razachia, Coarnă Niagra, Darkaia Nera, Dorcaja, Gara Kokur, Gara Moldaviya Uzumu, Herlani, Kar a Asma, Korna Niagra, Lattuario, Moldavskij Chernyj, Negru de Crimea, Persia, Razakija Cherna, Sultanca, Terre Promise Noire. The parentage is unknown. It is an all-female grape variety. It is used as a winepress and table grape. The variety was a crossing partner of the new varieties Dekabrskii, Doina, Pamyati Negrulya and Smuglyanka Moldavskaya. It is cultivated on 104 hectares in Romania and on 10 hectares in Moldova. In 2016, a total of 114 hectares of vines were designated (Kym Anderson).
