The white grape variety probably originates from the border region Romania/Hungary (Carpathian region). Synonyms are Aramon du Nord, Bela Pelesovna, Bela Selenika, Belline, Bischheimer, Bockseckel, Butachera, Butschera, Elender, Glockauer, Green Hungarian, Gyöngyszölö, Misera, Perlentraube, Putscher, Raifler, Rettermann, Sauerlamper, Talburger, Treitsche, Ungar, Weiße Hinschen, Weißer Tokayer and Zuti Krhkopetec. The German name Putzscheere is a corruption of the Hungarian name Butschera. The parentage is unknown. The vine used to be very popular throughout Central and Western Europe as an undemanding, high-yielding mass producer of simple wines. It is also used as table grape. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
