Cicchitti

The winery "Bodega J.A. Cicchitti S.A." is located in the Rodeo de la Cruz district 11 kilometres away from the city of Mendoza in the north of the Argentinean wine region of the same name. It was founded in 1928 by the Focault brothers from France. At the beginning of the 1980s the property was sold to the Italian Cicchitti family. The vineyards cover 70 hectares at an altitude of 900 to 1,100 metres above sea level in Angelo, Barranca, Villa Seca, Vista Flores and Rodeo de la Cruz. They are planted with the red varieties Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese, among others, and the white varieties Chardonnay, Sémillon and Muscat d'Alexandrie. Grape variety wines and cuvées are produced, some of which are aged in barriques. Around 250,000 bottles of wine and 100,000 bottles of bottle-fermented sparkling wine are produced annually.
