Appellation for white wines, red wines and rosé wines in the middle section of the Rhône wine-growing region. The vineyards cover 65 hectares of vines in 13 communes east of the town of Die, in the immediate vicinity of the eponymous town of Châtillon-en-Diois on the Bez tributary on the right bank of the Drôme. The area surrounding the town of Die is called Diois, which means "in the countryside along the Drôme". Red wine and rosé are mainly blended from at least 75% Gamay, and up to a maximum of 25% Syrah and Pinot Noir. The white wine is made from Aligoté and Chardonnay.
