Châtillon-en-Diois

The small appellation is located around the small town of Die in the Département Drôme in the east of the wine-growing region Rhône. The area surrounding the town is called Diois, which means "in the country on the Drôme". The AC is named after the commune situated on the Drôme Bez tributary. The vineyards cover around 60 hectares of vines on the slopes of the upper Drôme valley. Red wine and rosé are mainly blended from Gamay, and up to 25% Syrah and Pinot Noir. The white wine is made from Aligoté and Chardonnay.
