A platform founded in France in 2005 with the aim of offering genuine terroir and vintner wines in bag-in-box. All producers are independent, small to medium-sized businesses (vignerons independants) and vouch for the quality of the wines on offer with their name and reputation. These are produced according to organic criteria wherever possible. The wines are marketed in relatively small quantities of between 1,000 and 9,000 litres. There are now producers from France, Italy, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland. They are also known as "micro-châteaux"; see under garage wine.
There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
