The vineyard is located in the municipality of Saint-Laurent-des-Combes in the Saint-Émilion area (Bordeaux). Its unknown origins date back to the 17th century. The estate has been continuously owned by the Faniest family since 1847. They also operate a small railway that runs daily in the region as a tourist attraction. Today, the estate is run by Philippe Faniest, assisted by his daughter Emilie. The estate was classified as a Grand Cru Classé for the first time in 2012. The vineyards cover three hectares and are planted with Merlot (85%) and Cabernet Franc (15%). The long-lasting red wine matures for 15 to 18 months in 100% new barriques.
The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
