Château Laroze

The winery is located in the town of Saint-Émilion in the area of the same name (Bordeaux). It was founded in 1882 by the Meslin family, who were already mentioned here as winemakers in 1610. The château was built in 1885. Since 1986 the estate has been managed by Guy Meslin. The estate is classified as "Grand Cru Classé", which was last confirmed in 2012. The vineyards cover 27 hectares with Merlot (68%), Cabernet Franc (26%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (6%). The red wine is aged for 12 to 14 months in 50% new barriques. The second wine is called "Lafleur Laroze".

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
