The winery is located near Saint-Émilion(Bordeaux) in the area of the same name. It was founded in 1750 by Pierre Beylot. Since 1930, it has been owned by the Janoueix family, who also run other wine estates and a wine trade. The estate is classified as a Grand Cru Classé, which was last confirmed in 2012. The vineyards cover 21 hectares of vines, most of which are around 50 years old. They are planted with the Merlot (70%) and Cabernet Franc (30%) varieties. The long-lasting red wine is matured for 12 months in barriques, 30% of which are new. The second wine is called "Chateau Vieux Sarpe".
Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
