Château Fonréaud

The winery is located in the commune of Listrac-Médoc or the area of the same name in the Médoc (Bordeaux). In the Bordeaux classification according to the old system, which is no longer valid, it was last classified as "Cru Bourgeois Superieur" in 2003. It has been owned by the Chanfreau family, who returned from Algeria in 1962, and has been managed by Jean Chanfreau since 1981. The vineyards cover 34 hectares of vines, planted with Cabernet Sauvignon (65%), Merlot (30%) and Petit Verdot (5%). The long-lasting red wine matures in 33% new barriques. The second wine is called "La Tourelle du Château Fonréaud". From two hectares the white wine "Le Cygne Blanc" is produced.
