The winery is located in the north-eastern part of the plateau of the commune of Saint-Émilion (Bordeaux) in the area of the same name. Owned by the Asséo family since 1982, the estate was sold to the former porcelain manufacturer Dominique Decoster in 2001. It is classified as "Grand Cru Classé", which was last confirmed in 2012. The vineyards cover 18 hectares and are planted with Merlot (70%), Cabernet Franc (15%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (15%). The long-lasting red wine matures for 16 to 20 months in new barriques. The second wine is called "Château Bois Cardinal".
