The winery is located in the municipality of Barsac in the Sauternes area (Graves, Bordeaux). Its origins date back to 1677, when Jean Raymond took over an agricultural estate called Doisic (later Doisy). The first vineyards were planted by his descendants. The Védrines family became owners of the estate by marriage in 1704. In the first half of the 19th century, the estate was divided into three parts: Château Doisy-Daëne, Château Doisy-Dubroca and Château Doisy-Védrines. In 1850, the majority of the estate still belonged to Madame Dubosq, presumably a descendant of the Védrines family. She sold Château Doisy-Védrines to the Boireau family, ancestors of the Castéja family, in 1851. In any case, all three estates were classified in the second rank (Deuxième Grand Cru Classé) in the 1855 Bordeaux classification (for Sauternes).
