The winery is located in the commune of Odenas in the French département of Rhône in the Beaujolais region 40 km north of Lyon. The traditional farm has been in the family since the 17th century. The current owner Marquise de Roussy de Sales is a direct descendant of François de La Chaize d'Aix, the brother of the Jesuit priest François d'Aix de La Chaize (1624-1709), the confessor of Louis XIV. The château was built in 1676. Caroline de Roussy de Sales is the manager and Antoine Lohier the oenologist.

The vineyards cover 99 hectares of vines in the Beaujolais sub-region of Brouilly. They are exclusively planted with Gamay vines, which are raised in the Gobelet and Cordon de Royat system. About half of the stock is older than 40 years, some even 80 years old. Management is carried out according to organic and sustainable guidelines. These include, among other things, cover crop between the rows of vines and a greatly reduced use of chemical substances. Only healthy and ripe grapes are harvested by hand.
