The winery is located in the eponymous municipality of Aydie in the Madiran region of south-west France. It is owned by the Laplace family. The vineyards cover 65 hectares of vines. A special feature are some very old vines dating back to the time before phylloxera. The Madiran red wine "Frédéric Laplace", named after an ancestor, is blended from 60% Tannat and 15% each of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Dry and sweet white wines are also produced under the AOC Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh. Wines are pressed from bought-in grapes under the "Fleury-Laplace" label.
There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
