The vineyard is located in the municipality of Avensan in the Médoc (Bordeaux). It was last classified as a Cru Bourgeois Supérieur in 2003 in the Bordeaux classification according to the old system, which is no longer valid. The estate is one of the oldest estates here. Until the middle of the 19th century, it was owned by the noble Marquis de Donnissan family. Subsequently, the once large estate was reduced to just four hectares of vines and came into the possession of the Miailhe family in 1945. Until 1980, the estate was managed by Jean Miailhe and expanded and revitalised to its current size.

After being handed over to his sister and her wife, it was sold to the Japanese company Fujimoto in 1986. Finally, in 1996, it became the property of the Taillan Group under the management of Jacques Merlaut (+2008). Today it is managed by granddaughter Claire Villars-Lurton. The vineyards cover 90 hectares and are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon (58%) and Merlot (42%). They are divided into two parts in the communes of Avensan and Margaux. The long-lasting red wine is matured for 12 months in barriques, 40% of which are new. The second wine is called "Moulins de Citran".
