The winery is located south of Pomerol(Bordeaux) in the area of the same name. The name comes from the founding family, presumably of Scottish origin. It is usually referred to as "Château Certan" or "Château Certan de May" for short. It was once part of Vieux Château Certan. In 1925, it came into the possession of the Barreau-Badar family and is now managed by Jean-Luc Barreau. The vineyards cover five hectares and are planted with Merlot (70%), Cabernet Franc (25%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (5%). The long-lasting red wine is matured for 24 months in 50% new barriques.
The Wine lexicon helps me to keep up to date and refresh my knowledge. Thank you for this Lexicon that will never end in terms of topicality! That's what makes it so exciting to come back often.
